Hong Kong

General information about the country: Hong Kong is a special administrative region of the People's Republic of China, one of the world's leading global cities and financial centers. It is located on the Jiulong Peninsula, bordered by the South China Sea from the west, south and east, as well as on more than 260 islands. The largest among them are Hong Kong, Lantau and Lamma. It is divided into three parts: Hong Kong Island proper, Jiulong and the New Territories. It enters the Zhujiang River Delta region, located on the left bank of its mouth. The area of Hong Kong is 1104 km2 and, despite the fact that it is considered a highly urbanized territory, only a quarter of the area of Hong Kong is considered developed. As of 2024, the population of Hong Kong is 7,407,935 people. Hong Kong's time zone is UTC+8.
