General information about the country: The territory is 513,000 km2. A Southeast Asian country located in the southwestern part of the Indochina Peninsula and in the northern part of the Malacca Peninsula. It borders Cambodia and Laos to the east, Myanmar to the west, and Malaysia to the south. The country's population is 69 million people. It mainly consists of ethnic Thais (80%) and Laotians. There is also a large community of ethnic Chinese (10%). Other ethnic groups are represented by Malays, Hmong, Khmer, and Vietnamese. The time zone is UTC+7.
